Knockout CP Freshmart-Oscar Collazo: Stats and Stakes
Unification at strawweight with the Ring Magazine title on the line
It’s hard, even for hardcore fans, to get excited about the 105 pound weight class. The division is separated by geography in a way that makes big fights hard to come by and stars hard to find.
It doesn’t mean it never happens.
This is the weight class of “Finito” Lopez, Ivan Calderon, and the place where “Chocolatito” first turned heads. On Saturday, underneath the cruiserweight unification between Chris Billam-Smith and Gilberto Ramirez (DAZN, 12 PM EST), strawweight will have its first unification clash in years.
Boxing’s longest reigning titlist, Knockout CP Freshmart, will face one of its newest, Oscar Collazo, and when the night ends the number of champs in the division will be reduced by one.
Let’s get into it.

The Pick: While not the most active fighter in the world, Freshmart has been a steady presence in the division for a decade. Too many long reigning titlists in lower classes have missed opportunities like this so it’s a win to be here. On the heels of beating longtime national rival Menayothin, Freshmart has a chance to cement his place among the best in the thirty-plus year history of the class.
Unfortunately, opportunity knocks with a talented, younger opponent standing in his way. Collazo has looked better with each outing. The southpaw can box, he can punch, and he appears to be quicker. Put it together and Collazo should be the favorite here. A stoppage is possible but let’s call it Collazo by decision.
Rold Picks 2025: 35-15
